Biokovka je osnovana 1961. godine. Smjestila se u Makarskoj u najljepšem dijelu grada na šljunčanoj plaži dugoj više od 2 km u parku s mediteranskom vegetacijom.
Uz šetnice obrubljene borovima nalaze se različiti turistički sadržaji: ugostiteljski objekti s gastronomskim specijalitetima, trgovine i suvenirnice te obilje zabave za djecu i odrasle (aquaparkovi, vodeni sportovi, beach barovi i sl.)
